Arial, that seems like a good font. It has a good bold, a great italic and a wonderful mixture.
Font nerd aside, what shall we talk about for the first iteration of this irregular series? If you seem to think that I'm going to be in any way normal, be mistaken.
I'm autistic. Shocker, it's in the footer. Don't take this as a "get out of social jail card" quote, but merely a notification of my inability to understand you. As I write this the time is 00:01 and I could probably be better off sleeping.
I just went to a bus depot and I want to ramble I guess
Gillen's of Greenock (previously Pride of the Clyde) is a bus company that does coach hires with a surprisingly large fleet - mostly inactive school buses.
Including but not limited to:
-BMC 1100FEs (3/4) - 06, and have front engines you have to climb over to get into the cab. Odd.
-Volvo B10M/Alexander PS (1): R, has a panel popped out for a sight into the B10M engine.
-Volvo B10M/Alexander Q-Type (1): DAZ 1532/1521 - I think these would be P reg in the GB system. 1532 was fine and the other one was pretty mossy.
-Volvo Olympian/Alexander Royale (1): P423 KSX, ex-Lothian 423, ex-Herberts, stalks me a lot. Was idling the whole time I was there as they were working on it.
-Scania/Irizar Century (1): Rear bumper ripped off and placed under the falling off front bumper.
-VanHool stuff (quite a few): Lots of random VanHools, not going to bother. Most Alizees/Axials and most pretty far gone.
-Irizar i6 integral (1): YT15 OTE, I've been on it before.
Was entertaining to say the least.
C&M cancels all services
This I never particularly expected, given that there was no sign of any issues as the stream of random Solos kept flowing into the company.
Currently they have been running
-TAZ 5284, an Optare Solo Slimline in plain white.
-MX57 CBY, an Optare Solo Slimline in white with a blue skirt.
-YJ60 KPY/Z, both Optare Solo Slimlines with single seats for the first 3 rows because, capacity?
The route 30 [Greenock-Braeside] is to be replaced by a new McGill's route 518, which will almost certainly be a Strata or Enviro 200. Once in a blue moon it'll get an MMC.
The route 32 [Greenock-Overton-Pennyfern-Greenock "Circular"] has no replacement. It's subsidised counterpart, the 330 run by McGill's, only runs in evenings and on Sundays. As no change has been registered for the 330, I must assume that Overton and Pennyfern will have a better Sunday service than anything else until someone remembers they exist!
That's it for this issue I guess. See you whenever I can remember how to fix up this site.
